Exciting Activities Offered For Fans At Allstate 400 At The Brickyard



Spectator information and events leading up to and during the 12th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Aug. 5-7 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (all dates, times, events subject to change):

TICKETS:

Reserved-seat Race Day tickets for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard remain available. General admission tickets for practice and qualifications and reserved-seat Race Day tickets can be purchased on the World Wide Web via www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com or by calling the IMS Ticket Office at (800) 822-INDY or (317) 492-6700.

Parking and camping information is also available via the phone numbers listed above and www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com.

All seating at the Speedway for practice on Aug. 5 and qualifying and practice on Aug. 6 is general admission. Tickets will be available at the Speedway ticket office and entrance gates. Prices are $10 for practice and $15 for qualifications, with children age 5 and younger admitted for free on both days. A Friday-Saturday "Combo Pass," which provides "gate in and out" privileges for both days, is available at the ticket office for $25.

SECURITY MEASURES:

The following security guidelines have been established for the 12th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard for fans entering the Speedway:

·Strict enforcement of rules limiting any coolers carried in to no more than 14 inches wide by 14 inches high.

·All coolers, backpacks and handbags will be subject to security inspection.

·Additional uniformed officers will be stationed at each gate to monitor inspections.

A number of other measures will be employed on the grounds to tighten security, but details will not be released. Fans attending on Race Day should plan to arrive as early as possible.

ON THE AIR (all times Eastern Daylight):

The 12th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard will be televised live on NBC at 2:30 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 7. A half-hour pre-race show will start at 2 p.m. on NBC.

Coverage of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup qualifying takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 6 on the TNT cable network.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network will broadcast a one-hour Allstate 400 at the Brickyard pre-race show at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) Aug. 7, followed by the live race broadcast at 2:30 p.m.

A qualifications show will air live from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Aug. 6 with a wrap-up of qualifying scheduled for 6-7 p.m.

The IMS Radio Network also will broadcast an Allstate 400 at the Brickyard preview show from 6-7 p.m. Aug. 5.

SUPPORTING THE TROOPS:

Indianapolis Motor Speedway will continue its support of the Department of Defense's America Supports You initiative at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard by selling commemorative dog tags, with proceeds benefiting the Homes for Our Troops organization.

America Supports You is a nationwide initiative to showcase and communicate America's support for our men and women in the United States Armed Forces and their families. The dog tags, which are $5 each, and Homes for Our Troops information will be available at a booth located in the Pagoda Plaza from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Aug. 5-6, and 8 a.m.-11 a.m. on Race Day, Aug. 7.

Homes for Our Troops is a nonprofit organization committed to helping members of the United States Armed Forces who have selflessly given to their country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries.

The organization assists injured service men and women and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor, and coordinating the process of building a new home or adapting an existing home for handicapped accessibility.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 3: Race Cars On Display

A variety of NASCAR race machinery will be on display from noon-6 p.m. at Kroger on 8150 Rockville Road in Indianapolis.

Among the sponsored NASCAR cars scheduled to be on display: Kellogg's Simulator, Edy's car, Kleenex car, Budweiser car, Cheerios car, Reese's car, Bar S car, Coors car, Hoffman car, Viagra car, Dodge car, Tide car, Clorox car, Kingsford car, Miller Lite car.

An IndyCar Series® car also will be on display.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 3: Kroger Race For Riley

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver John Andretti will play host to the 10th annual Kroger Race for Riley presented by Cheerios charity go-kart racing event from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at New Castle Motorsports Park near New Castle, Ind. WIBC-AM 1070 personality Dave "The King" Wilson will broadcast live at "Kroger Race for Riley" from 4-7 p.m.

The event is a benefit for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, and the public can race against Andretti for $50 (participants must advance through a series of heats to race Andretti). Parking is $10 per car, which will be donated to Riley. Contact Katherine Cain at (317) 634-4474 for reservations and information, including sponsorship opportunities. "Kroger Race for Riley" also will include a celebrity media race and other special events.

More than 300 people attended the 2004 event, which raised more than $100,000 for Riley. The event has generated more than $600,000 to support young Riley patients since 1996.

NCMP, which is owned by former Indy Racing League driver Mark Dismore, is located just south of New Castle, Ind., 45 minutes east of downtown Indianapolis at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Indiana State Road 3. Take I-70 to Exit 123, turn right on State Road 3 and go south for a quarter-mile, just past the Flying J Truck Stop, turn left onto the gravel road and follow it a quarter-mile to the NCMP gate. 2002 NASCAR champion Tony Stewart and NASCAR driver J.J. Yeley will appear from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 3 at The Home Depot on 3902 N. High School Road in Indianapolis.

Fans must have a wristband to receive an autograph, with 700 wristbands being distributed starting at 3 p.m. Autographs will be signed for 700 people or two hours, whichever comes first. One autograph per person.

THURSDAY, Aug. 4: Kellogg's Car On Display

Fans attending the first day of 2005 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard activities at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday, Aug. 5 will be treated to much more than the first two rounds of practice for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series event.

Chevy Day at the Brickyard, a Chevrolet-sponsored, family-friendly event, is taking place from 9 a.m.-noon. Admission to the event is included in the price of admission to the IMS grounds for the day's Allstate 400 at the Brickyard activities. General admission tickets for the day are $10 per person, free for children ages 5 and younger.

Highlights of Chevy Day at the Brickyard will include appearances and autographs sessions by Chevrolet-sponsored NASCAR drivers, interactive games, racing simulators, NASCAR race cars, prizes, live music and automotive merchandise available for purchase.

Autograph sessions will take place in the Pagoda Plaza, behind the Bombardier Pagoda control tower. There are separate lines for each session listed below. The first 100 adults (18 and over) in each line will receive a wristband for access to that autograph session, with gates opening at 8 a.m. Two minors (17 and younger) are permitted to accompany each adult in the line. FRIDAY, Aug. 5: NASCAR Stars To Autograph NASCAR Pets Calendar

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase the new 2006 NASCAR Pets Calendar on Friday, Aug. 5 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and also attend the special calendar launch autograph session.

From 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (local time), fans can purchase calendars for $13.99 each in the Pagoda Plaza, located behind the Bombardier Pagoda control tower, and have them autographed by NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman. The drivers will autograph only the calendars; they will not sign other merchandise or souvenirs.

Fans will receive a gift item for giving blood and/or signing up to be a bone marrow donor between 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Blood Mobile in the East Parking Lot of the Speedway Hall of Fame Museum.

Funding for the marrow testing is provided by the Hendrick Marrow Program. Bone marrow recipients and their family members will be available to talk to donors.

SATURDAY, Aug. 6: Hank's Hog Roast, Diamond Rio

The roar of NEXTEL Cup Series cars will mix with the sweet sounds and smells of country music and free food at the HANK'S Hog Roast at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Aug. 6 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

With the purchase of a $15 Saturday Qualification Day ticket from IMS, fans will have access to a free concert starring Diamond Rio and Emerson Drive, as well as free food to the first 10,000 people. The free concert and food are presented by Indianapolis country music station 97.1 HANK FM and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Festivities begin at noon (local time) with free pork sandwiches, cole slaw and baked beans, while supplies last. Emerson Drive hits the stage at 1:30 p.m., followed by headliner Diamond Rio at 4:45 p.m. Country music superstars Diamond Rio have sold more than 10 million albums on the strength of No. 1 hits such as "Meet In the Middle," "One More Day," "Beautiful Mess" and "I Believe."

Concert goers can also see the semi-finals and finals of the Allstate Drivers Change Challenge. 97.1 HANK FM and its sister station, 1070 WIBC, will broadcast the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard live.

SATURDAY, Aug. 6: Ricky Rudd Public Question & Answer Session

1997 Allstate 400 at the Brickyard winner Ricky Rudd will answer questions from the public from 1:15-1:30 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Stage in the Pagoda Plaza of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. IMS Radio Network reporter Jerry Baker will serve as host.

SATURDAY, Aug. 6: Scott Wimmer Autograph Session

NEXTEL Cup Series driver Scott Wimmer will sign autographs from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at his souvenir trailer outside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

SATURDAY, Aug. 6: Dennis Haysbert Throws First Pitch

Award-winning actor Dennis Haysbert, grand marshal of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, will throw the first pitch before the Indianapolis Indians-Toledo Mud Hens AAA baseball game at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis.

Haysbert is scheduled to throw his pitch at 5:50 p.m.

SUNDAY, Aug. 7: Limited Edition Collectible Pins

On Race Day, 20,000 fans will receive a free Allstate 400 at the Brickyard collectible pin. The limited edition pins will be distributed at the Allstate kiosks, located at Gate 1, Gate 9, the East Museum lot and the Pagoda Plaza, along the Tunnel 6 railing.

Each pin includes a capsule containing brick dust from the Yard of Bricks removed from the start-finish line when the historic 2.5-mile oval was repaved last year.
